, we seem to lose this ability to empathize with others. We become less and less willing to understand their point of view, making it easier for us to take advantage of them in one way or another because the difficulty is no longer there. This morning I woke up early so that I could go dancing at a local club. There are always people who will be turned away from any given establishment because they don’t meet some arbitrary standard imposed by those in power, but as long as you have money then none of these restrictions apply anymore. It’s like society has decided what makes someone worth being seen while other members get written off without ever getting the chance to try themselves out again.” –Tasks– – , it becomes increasingly difficult to retain a sense of innocence and wonder about the world.
