For a while now, Roblox has been making changes to their virtual currency. One of the latest updates is that they will be removing tix from the game on January 27th, 2019. This update is controversial because many players believe that this will make it unfair for those who cannot afford robux. Roblox is a game that’s been growing in popularity for years now. It was originally created by Andrew and David Baszucki back in 2004, but it didn’t really take off until 2006-2008 when they partnered with Brian Reynolds to create games on Roblox. In 2007, it became one of the most popular online social gaming platforms as well as one of the top grossing apps in Apple’s App Store thanks to their virtual currency system — Tix!
When you play Roblox, your character has an avatar which can be customized from head to toe. There are different in-game stores where you can use tix (or robux) to buy items such as clothing or shoes, new faces and hair, or even special effects.
All of this led to Roblox becoming a popular platform for kids and teens alike. In 2010 it was the #35 most visited site in the US with over 30 million monthly active users (MAU). But as time went on, things changed..
On December 15th 2017 Roblox announced that they would be removing Tix from their game by February 2018 so we’re taking a look back at why you might miss them!
