My favorite Id Software Products
-Commander Keen, an old school platformer for DOS. I played this in elementary school and the memories came flooding back when I found it on Steam! It’s like playing a game from my childhood but with more challenge. You can buy Commander Keen games on steam here: store.steampowered.com/app/48260/?snr=0_fef88_57ffb99edfcbbd00ebee89&affid=titan-entertainment?mktfoundry=steam
-Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was a great FPS experience that has aged well over time as long as you don’t mind low resolution graphics or some of the rougher edges. You can buy Wolfenstein Enemy Territory games on steam here: store.steampowered.com/app/6080/?snr=0_fef88_57ffb99edfcbbd00ebee89&affid=titan-entertainment?mktfoundry=steam
-Quake was one of my favorite shooters from the late 90s and early 200s when I had lots of time to play video games (and a lot more free time). Quake is fast paced, has great graphics for its day, good multiplayer options and a ridiculous number of guns! It’s also very cheap now which means you could pick up an old copy or download it digitally on Steam for a quid.
-Wolfenstein The New Order is the most recent game in this series and has been well received by critics with an average Metacritic score of 81%. It’s not on sale yet but you can find it here: store.steampowered.com/app/202250/?snr=0_fef88_57ffb99edfcbbd00ebee89&affid=titan-entertainment?mktfoundry=steam or at retail stores like GameStop, Best Buy, WalMart etc..
*The original Wolfenstein was released as shareware back in 1992 so if you want to see where these games come from then go ahead and give it a try.
-Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is the sequel to last year’s critically acclaimed Wolfenstein and has been well received by critics with an average Metacritic score of 87%. It was released on October 27, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation __(screenshots)__ and PC which means it can still be purchased digitally or at retail stores like GameStop, Best Buy, WalMart etc..
*It seems that this game will have a physical release but if you want to make sure then just go ahead and buy your digital copy now before they sell out!
-Rage is another Id Software title that I’m enjoying right now especially because there are so many mods available for it. You may not be old enough to remember the original release date but it was released on September 13, 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation __(screenshots)__.
*I had never played this game before so I’m really glad that a lot of people have been compiling mods for Rage because they make all the difference! It also helps me get better acquainted with some gaming consoles which is always good too.
-DOOM (2016) has come out in an almost unfair fashion as we are now just two months away from its October 27th release date. This Id Software title will be available exclusively on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS __(screenshot)._ The 2016’s DOOM makes you feel like your back playing the original 1993 DOOM and the 2013 DOOM.
-There are so many great mods for Skyrim that I can’t even keep track of them all! There is a mod on Nexusmods called “The Forgotten City” which adds an entirely new area to explore with its own story, quests, items and characters. It has been nominated for two awards at this years Game Developers Conference (GDC) Awards: Best Narrative Modification Award in 2016’s The XYZZY Awards and Excellence In Convergence award in 2017’s Unity Awards. This mod was developed by Charles Chapman who also created other popular game modifications like Dragon Age Keep, Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition Director’s Cut and Deus Ex Human Revolution – Revisioned Project. If you enjoy Bethesda games, this is a must-have.

Some favorite Id Software games are Quake II Arena, Doom II as well as the 2013 DOOM. Bethesda games always have great replayability value due to their rich storytelling through different perspectives with characters that change throughout gameplay which is what I loved about The Elder Scrolls II: Morrowind.
I also have a soft spot for the Deus Ex franchise, and not just because of its cyberpunk themes and gameplay mechanics that feel like Blade Runner or Total Recall.”

The mod is designed to make the game more immersive and atmospheric by adding improved graphics, new areas such as Hengsha’s Nightclub Spire or Tai Yong Medical HQ. It also includes reworked weapons with realistic ballistics like bullet drop and inaccuracy.”
Lighting has been vastly improved too through the use of a dynamic lighting system making it possible for interior lights to reflect on nearby surfaces including mirrors and glass.”
Other improvements include tweaks in nearly every aspect of gameplay from inventory management to AI behavior which makes DXHR: DC one of my favorite mods ever made. Highly recommended!

Modding Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut is a great way for me to continue enjoying the game, but it wasn’t until these five specific additions that I felt like there was nothing else left to do. These are some amazing changes that you might enjoy if you’re looking for something new or just want an enhanced experience.” – Tor’s Cut: It also includes reworked weapons with realistic ballistics like bullet drop and inaccuracy. – Other improvements include tweaks in nearly every aspect of gameplay from inventory management to AI behavior which makes DXHR: DC one of my favorite mods ever made.
