This post is a result of a discussion with my cousin. It is the result from an e-mail that the owner of a kettle corn operation on craigslist sent to me.
The owner of the business, as well as the guy selling it on craigslist, are both local, and the business is currently in operation. The kettle corn is made from corn kernels that are cooked in a pot and then sealed in a pot for 24 hours and then boiled. The kernels are then removed from the pot and left in a bag until the corn is ready to be eaten.
The first thing I did when I got the e-mail was check my mailbox. There was a post with my name and the address of the kettle corn store and a description of a sale. The seller was selling the kettle corn business for $15,000. I paid cash.
The kettle corn business sounds like a lot of fun. I’d like to think I’d be more excited about it than the fact it is made from corn. I would definitely recommend taking your own e-mail address and starting an online business. It is so much easier than dealing with brick and mortar, so you can stay in touch with your customers better.
You can find a lot of things on craigslist. Maybe you’re looking for a new car (or a job), maybe you just need a place to stay, maybe you just want to sell your used car or RV. In any case, you can find an array of items on craigslist, and most of it is free to do what you want with. So make sure you really want what you’re selling before you post it.
