The internet has enabled us to communicate with one another, shop, do research, and share our ideas and thoughts all from our computers. However, it can also be a daunting environment to navigate, especially for those who are not computer savvy. The skills of how to navigate the internet effectively are important, and this infographic from the American Council on Education looks at the skills necessary to successfully navigate the internet.
I don’t know about you, but I definitely struggle with navigating the internet. And this infographic is perfect for showing us how to do it.
The infographic was created by Dr. Kevin Baker, a professor of information and communication studies at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Dr. Baker says that while the internet is a fantastic tool to access information, it’s also a great challenge for those who don’t know how to use it well.
I think the infographic is a great reminder that just as computers are now being used for a wide array of tasks, we can use them to help us learn and develop our skills. When we see that we have lots of knowledge, it makes us realize that we should be constantly seeking more.
The infographic focuses on the many ways that we can use technology to learn and develop our skills. It highlights how we can study hard, practice, and develop our skills; how we can create and share multimedia presentations; and how we can use technology to learn more about our world. It also emphasizes that technology, like computers, can help us learn about our world.
It’s easy to think that we can learn all these things without using the internet. But I don’t believe that we can. We need to learn new things, and we need to learn when we are ready.
The biggest issue I have with people who are looking for information about technology is that they are trying to look at it one way – as a “one stop shop” or a “best seller”. They are not looking at it as an opportunity to learn or develop. What they mean when they say “I would like to learn” is “I need to learn how to do this.
To an extent, this is true. Learning how to use a new thing and understanding it well is part of the process of learning. But the way we are taught to learn is not really the way that knowledge is being acquired. We learn by doing, by doing things, by experiencing things.
I think what I’m trying to get at is that learning is something that needs to be constantly changing. As I’ve said, learning is change, and that is why I’m a programmer. Learning is constantly changing the way you do things, and that is the point at which you will learn the most. We are all different when it comes to learning – whether it’s math, computers, or even reading and writing.
I think we are all different when it comes to learning, because we are all unique individuals and our learning styles all change from day to day. I know that when I was in college (which was not at all unlike my real life), I was a horrible student. I got bored quickly, was constantly distracted, and had a very poor attention span. I also started to learn by doing. I learned to program by making my own games – which was so much fun that I did it often.
