This past week has been a busy one. First, I’ve been on the west coast, where I was able to attend two conferences. Then, I was able to go to my dad’s funeral, which was an emotional and difficult experience. He died on Monday.
Ive spent the past week on the east coast. On the east coast Ive also had to be on the west coast. Ive had to go to my dads funeral and have to be on both.
Ive spent the last weeks on the east coast too, but Ive been on the west coast more often. Ive been able to attend two conferences. My first one was the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The second was the Game Developers Conference in Seattle.
I’ve been to both of those conferences. Ive also attended a few other events that aren’t in the list above.
The Game Developers Conference in San Francisco is the largest conference for games developers around the world. That’s not saying that they don’t have anything of note to say, but every conference is. And while Ive gone to several other events that arent in the list above, Ive gone to a lot more than just these two.
The GDC is the largest gathering of professional game developers around the world, so it was a big deal for a lot of games to be at that conference. The conference was a bit more like a tech conference than a game event, though, with many of the top names in the industry having panels that would not be found at any other event.
In addition to being about as well as they could be on a business conference, the GDC is one of the most anticipated events of the year, with a few notable names like Dr. Doom, The Witcher 2, Half-Life 3, and the more recent Rogue One. I’ve always enjoyed some of the games being shown at the event, but this year I’ve been getting a lot of hype for this event.
Ive attended two of the three GDC conferences, and Ive enjoyed both, but I can’t say that the one that I attended was the best. It was very well organized, with a lot of good panels. However, the one thing that I think makes the GDC the best of these conferences is that it has a lot of gaming fans in attendance.
The events are always fun, but often I just don’t get to see the games I want to see. Ive been there and done that. The only thing I would say about the event is that it is a great little place to get a good look at the games. Ive seen many games where there is some kind of giant screen and a lot of people go to a game to watch it. The event is great.
The GDC will be my first time in an arcade. I dont know if I can say the same for the event. I will say it is a great way to see some of the games that get shown at the convention, and to see a lot of different kinds of games. But I can also say that my best gaming experience was at this convention. I dont know if its still there, but I think this is the only one that I have ever been to.
